Terms of Service
The agreement between you and WatchDog Bot when you use the platform. Written to be readable. Where there's ambiguity, the spirit of the deal is: we provide software, you run it on your own account at your own exchange with your own money, neither of us is liable for the other's trading decisions.
About this document. Plain-language summary intended to be readable, not a substitute for jurisdiction-specific legal counsel. If you have specific compliance, licensing, or commercial-use questions, contact us.
1. The agreement
By creating an account or using WatchDog Bot ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) and legally able to enter contracts. If you're using WatchDog Bot on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. What WatchDog Bot is — and isn't
What it is
A software platform that runs Python trading bots on your local machine, with optional cloud features (log shipping, AI Fix, encrypted credential sync). You write the strategies. We run the runtime.
What it isn't
- Not a broker, exchange, or financial intermediary. We never take custody of funds, route orders through our servers, or hold any positions.
- Not financial, investment, or legal advice. Strategies you build or copy are your responsibility.
- Not a guarantee of trading performance. Bots can lose money. They will lose money sometimes. Past performance does not predict future results.
- Not insured against losses. If your strategy loses money, that's between you and the market.
Risk acknowledgment. Algorithmic trading involves substantial risk of loss. You may lose your entire trading capital. WatchDog Bot does not screen, approve, or vet user-written strategies. You are solely responsible for testing your bots, sizing your positions, and accepting the consequences of every trade your bots place.
3. Your responsibilities
By using the Service, you agree:
- You are legally permitted to trade on the exchanges and markets you connect to (KYC complete, jurisdiction allowed, etc.)
- You will not use the Service to violate any law, regulation, exchange terms of service, or third-party rights
- You will not use the Service to manipulate markets, spoof orders, or engage in any prohibited trading behavior
- You will keep your account credentials and API keys secure
- You will not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the Service's source code
- You will not use the Service to spam, abuse, or harass others (including via bots messaging exchange chat or Telegram)
4. Our responsibilities
- We will operate the Service with commercially reasonable effort, but we don't guarantee uptime, availability, or that the Service is bug-free
- We will treat your data per our Privacy Policy
- We will provide a free trial as described on the pricing page
- We will give you at least 14 days notice before any material change to these Terms
5. Subscriptions, payment & refunds
Subscription terms are described on the pricing page:
- Free trial: 14 days, no credit card. No auto-conversion.
- Monthly subscription: $29.99/month, billed monthly. Cancel any time; access continues to the end of the billing period.
- Annual subscription: $299/year, billed annually upfront. ~17% discount vs monthly.
- Refunds: Full refund within 14 days of first paid charge if requested. Prorated refunds case-by-case after that.
- Failed payments: 7-day grace period. After that, paid features pause until the payment method is updated.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- Execute trades on accounts you don't legally control
- Front-run, spoof, wash-trade, or otherwise manipulate markets
- Process trades in jurisdictions where automated trading or the underlying exchange is illegal
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or proxy the Service's API or paid endpoints
- Run more than ten thousand bot instances concurrently on a single account (no, we don't expect you to — but if you somehow do, contact us about an enterprise plan)
- Send unsolicited messages via Telegram bots or similar integrations
- Train or fine-tune machine learning models on WatchDog Bot output without prior written permission
Violation may result in immediate account suspension without refund.
7. Intellectual property
Your code is yours. Any strategies, bot code, or content you write while using WatchDog Bot remain your property. We claim no rights to your strategies and never use them for training, marketing, or any other purpose.
Our software is ours. The WatchDog Bot application, server-side platform, the wd SDK, and all associated branding and documentation are owned by WatchDog Bot. The wd SDK is permissively bundled with the app for use inside your bots — you can use it freely while your subscription is active.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You can cancel through Account Settings or by emailing billing@watchdogbot.cloud. We can suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these Terms with reasonable notice (or immediately for fraud, abuse, or security threats).
On termination, your bots stop running. Your data is retained for 90 days for restore, then deleted per our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR ABLE TO MEET YOUR TRADING OBJECTIVES.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WATCHDOG BOT'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN SUBSCRIPTION FEES IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR TRADING LOSSES, MISSED OPPORTUNITIES, LOST DATA, EXCHANGE OUTAGES, BUG-INDUCED LOSSES, OR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify WatchDog Bot against any third-party claims arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law, including but not limited to claims by exchanges, regulators, or counterparties to your trades.
12. Governing law & disputes

Plain-English summary. You write Python. We run it. You're responsible for what your bots do. We're responsible for keeping the platform working. We never touch your money. Either of us can leave with reasonable notice.
